TOPIC: Simulating highly nonlocal Hamiltonians with less nonlocal Hamiltonians
Abstract
The need for Hamiltonians with many-body interactions arises in various applications of quantum computing. However, interactions beyond two-body are difficult to realize experimentally. In this talk, I will describe a nonperturbative embedding by which the dynamics of a system with a few k-body interactions (for arbitrarily large k) can be mapped to the dynamics of a system with at most l-body interactions, where l is much less than k. Then, I will give examples of how this technique can be used to explore new Hamiltonian paths for adiabatic quantum computation using experimentally feasible setups.
