Speaker: Andrew N. Jordan (University of Rochester)
Technical Host: Nikolai Sinitsyn
TOPIC: The quantum road most taken
Abstract
Recent advances in superconducting quantum circuits have permitted the continuous monitoring of the state of a qubit as it is changing from a combination of unitary dynamics and measurement disturbance. I will discuss new experiments where the state is prepared and postselected in freely chosen states separated in time, and the most likely quantum path between the boundary conditions is found. Comparison to our recently developed stochastic path integral formalism for continuous quantum measurement will be shown.
