TOPIC: Gravity and Quantum Information
Abstract
This talk shows how general relativity can be derived from quantum limits to measurement.
Starting from the physics of computation, I derive a limit to the total number of events — bit flips, clock ticks, or clicks of detectors — that can be contained in any volume of spacetime. I show that if each event removes a Planck scale area from the volume, then Einstein's equations hold.
