TOPIC: Searching for FFLO in polarized Fermi gases
Abstract
Pairing between fermionic particles lies in the heart of superconductivity. Cold dilute atomic gases allow us to study pairing mechanism and superfluid fermions in an unprecedented way. Over the past years, polarized Fermi gases (two-component Fermi gas with imbalanced population) have received tremendous attention. In this talk, I will briefly review current experimental status of this system and will then focus on our recent theoretical investigation. Particular attention will be paid to the FFLO state --- one of the exotic pairing states predicted to occur in polarized Fermi gases.
