2003 Workshop

Second LANL Quantum Workshop

Date: Dec. 16 and 17, 2003

Location: Quantum Institute Briefing Center (TA-3, SM-40, N101)

The Quantum Institute is sponsoring a Laboratory-wide workshop on Quantum Information, Science, and Technology. Agenda

The purpose of the workshop is to

  • update participants on current and planned activities
  • discuss future directions
  • initiate new collaborations

The workshop is open to all researchers at LANL interested in Quantum Information, Science, and Technology R&D.

We hope that all areas of quantum research conducted in and around the Laboratory will be represented at this workshop. We invite interested participants to present a brief overview of their recent and current quantum research, and their plans and ideas for future research.

Talks will be 10 minutes in length followed by 5 minutes for questions, and we hope that the first half of all talks will be made accessible to non-specialists. Talks will be grouped into short sessions separated by generous refreshment breaks which will provide ample time for discussion and for developing collaborations. We expect that it will be necessary to restrict participants to a single talk each.

Deadlines

October 24: reply with a title and author list for your talk

November 26: submit short abstract of talk

December 16/17: workshop

A registration system for participants who do not wish to present a talk will be set up closer to the date of the workshop.

Please contact Malcolm Boshier, Pam French, Daniel James, or Toni Taylor for more information.
