TOPIC: Few-body systems in ultracold dipolar gases

Abstract
Recently, there has been a great deal of both theoretical and experimental interest in ultracold dipolar gases. With permanent dipole moments giving long-range anisotropic interactions, these systems provide a new set of experimentally controllable behaviors. In this talk I will present new theoretical results in few-dipole systems. First, predictions of a new type of giant polyatomic molecule will be presented consisting of a polar molecule and a Rydberg atom. New ideas of how the Rydberg atom-dipole interaction can be used will also be given. I the second part of this talk I will present recent results predicting the recombination rate of three bosonic dipoles. This rate is important for determining the lifetime of an ultracold gas.
